GOLF MEMBER UPDATE - December 1, 2020
Fellow golf members,
Beginning Tuesday, December 1, 2020, we will begin our shot gun starts at 10 am to address potential frost delays and shortened daylight hours. There are numerous factors that must be balanced in this process. As such, every golfer must report to the parking lot of the clubhouse before going out on the course. Our procedures will be as follows:
Masks are REQUIRED to be properly worn covering your nose and your mouth during the entire time that you are at or around the clubhouse, at the practice range and on the putting green. Failure to wear your mask properly may risk cancellation of your tee time.
While waiting to go out, please maintain social distance and not congregate in large groups.
Please check the tee sheet before coming to the clubhouse parking lot which will have socially distanced markers for each Hole and group.
Please report to your tee sheet assigned location in the parking lot.
For those Full members who will be using a private cart, the Starter will check you in from your location in the parking lot.
For those members who need a cart, please report to your location in the parking lot and a cart will be staged there or brought to you. Please note: Carts will be assigned according to the tee sheet.
For those Full members and Associates who need to pay greens or cart fees, please arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of your tee time and follow the social distance markings to the Pro Shop for payment. We ask you to be patient and understanding during this time.
It is important to note that the tee assignments in Chelsea are based on the total points of the group and are assigned in ascending point order with the lowest point total group first. It is likely that there will be changes to these assignments on the morning of play. As such, it is important that everyone report to the parking lot to confirm from which hole you will be starting.
Lastly, there is a possibility that we will run out of club carts, given our single ridership. To the extent that members who share a private cart can play together, we would appreciate it. In the event that we do run out of carts, the carts will be given out in accordance with the Chelsea tee assignments as these are based on the point system that we have set up. If we run out of carts and there are members of a group who have private carts, those members are able to go out. We apologize in advance for any inconvenience.
Thank you for your patience and understanding.

GOLF COURSE PROCEDURES - December 1, 2020
As we have previously shared, the procedures under which we are operating the golf course are evolving as the situation progresses within our state. We continue to keep the health and safety our members’ and employees’ as our top priority.
We are following the requirements of Governor Murphy’s Executive Orders, along with guidelines and recommendations from the CDC and the World Health Organization, to help limit the exposure and mitigate the transmission of the virus. The following are the procedures that are in place for the use of the Greenbriar Oceanaire course by Golf Members and Resident Non-Members Only, with effect from December 1st when we will begin to have 10 am shot gun starts. This will be an evolving situation and we are committed to keeping you informed in changes to our procedures.
While it is our desire to provide a pleasurable golf experience and distraction during this time, please know that you are playing at your own risk.

· Every golfer must report to the parking lot of the clubhouse before going out on the course.
· Masks are REQUIRED to be properly worn covering your nose and your mouth during the entire time that you are at or around the clubhouse, at the practice range and on the putting green. Failure to wear your mask properly may risk cancellation of your tee time. It is strongly encouraged that they be worn where other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain.
· While waiting to go out, please maintain social distance and not congregate in large groups.
· Please check the tee sheet before coming to the clubhouse parking lot which will have socially distanced markers for each Hole and group. Please report to your tee sheet assigned location in the parking lot. It is likely that there will be changes to these assignments on the morning of play which will be communicated in the clubhouse parking lot.
· For those Full members who will be using a private cart, the Starter will check you in from your location in the parking lot.
· For those members who need a cart, please report to your location in the parking lot and a cart will be staged there or brought to you. Please note: Carts will be assigned according to the tee sheet which is based on Chelsea points for the group and in ascending order.
· For those Full members and Associates who need to pay greens or cart fees, please arrive at least 30 minutes ahead of your tee time and follow the social distance markings to the Pro Shop for payment. We ask you to be patient and understanding during this time.
· We encourage members, residents and employees to sanitize or wash hands thoroughly throughout the day. Please bring your own sanitizer if you have it.
· We would like to remind everyone that pace of play is very important. Please keep up with the group in front of you.
· Golf carts will continued to be sanitized before and after each use. In order to continue social distancing, we will continue with single rider carts, unless members of the same household or romantic partners. Please use your own cart if you have one so that club carts can be available for other members.
· We ask for your help in caring for the course and minimizing the impact of single cart ridership. Please follow the cart traffic instructions as shared in the morning message from the Pro Shop. Golfers are reminded to use the “two cart rule” for each fairway. The white stake after the tee boxes indicates the point of entry onto the fairways. Two carts only are allowed to enter at that point. These two carts should ride the fairway, not the rough, and exit at the signs indicating to do so. The other carts in the group should play the hole as Cart Path Only. The group can rotate this pattern by alternating holes as to who plays Cart Path Only. If there is a player with a handicap flag in your group, that player has priority for taking their cart on the fairway and counts as one of the two carts allowed. As a reminder, no carts, including those with handicap flags, are allowed within 30 feet of the greens, tees and bunkers. Please stay on the cart path with the carts. Carts should NOT ride in the rough. Please do not park the cart with two wheels in the rough.
· No guests will be allowed to play at this time.
· The practice range will be open to all members to warm up or practice at their leisure. Resident Non-Members may use the range as well after checking in and paying at the Pro Shop. Social distancing parameters of 6 feet will be used to set up spaces on the range. The balls will be sanitized after each picking. Spray bottles with disinfectant solution are available to spray the baskets. It is recommended that you spray the basket before and after use. Please do not gather at the ball bin on the practice range. Players are reminded that they need to check in at the Pro Shop 30 minutes before their tee time.
· The practice putting green is open with appropriate social distancing and safety measures.
· The comfort stations on the course at Hole #5 and between Holes #14 and #15 are open, in addition to those with exterior access at the clubhouse. Please wear your mask wile using the facilities and limit use to only 2 people at a time in your respective gender specific restroom. The frequency of cleaning and sanitizing the comfort stations will exceed the CDC guidelines.
· Golfers are asked to take care and be sure to stop at all street crossings. We have many neighbors out biking and walking and we need to care for all residents.
· Scorecards are available on the website if you want to print one at home. They will also be at the check in table. Please try to reuse your scorecard.
· There will be no cart attendant grabbing and loading bags until further notice.
· Do not handle or remove flag sticks. Ball lifts have been placed in the cups to facilitate holing out while creating a touchless means of retireving your ball. Please gently lift the handle with your putter to remove the ball from the cup. Do not touch them with your hands.
· Bunker rakes have been removed from the golf course until further notice. Please play your ball as lift, clean and place in the bunker. Also do your best to smooth your footprints as you exit the bunker.
· Ball washers and water coolers have been removed from the course until further notice. Be sure to bring water and stay hydrated.
· Sand and seed containers have been returned to the club golf carts. If you make a divot, please replace the grass or fill it with sand.
· Do not pick up your playing companions’ clubs or ball.
· Do not shake hands or embrace your playing partners before or after your round.
· Please do not play if you feel ill or have been exposed to someone who may have or have been exposed to Covid-19.
· Please do not play if you have underlying health issues that put you in a high risk category.
While it is our desire to provide a pleasurable golf experience and distraction during this time, please know that you are playing at your own risk.
