Golf Advisory Committee Charter
MISSION STATEMENT: The Committee shall advise the Board of Directors (Board) regarding matters affecting the golf program and issues effecting members/membership.
WINTER MESSAGE FROM THE GOLF ADVISORY COMMITTEE (GAC)
During the winter the Golf Advisory Committee (GAC) has been busy planning for the 2017 season.
The new Rules and Regulations and the Membership Application Form will be available on the website and also in the Prime Management Office after approval at the February Board of Directors meeting. On the Membership Application Form please note that the Associate Member Fee and Full Member Fee have been consolidated to include the driving range fee and the handicapee.
Please stop by and see the new pro shop. Should be up and running before the opening of the season.
There will be some changes to the area outside the pro shop to facilitate easier access, please check the website for further information. Another change in the pro shop is that John Kondash has decided to leave our course to pursue his career elsewhere. We will all miss John and wish him well in his new endeavor. On your first day playing you will notice a change has been made on the course – the trees are gone – Bill Casper Golf has been busy repainting the tee markers back to the original colors of Blue, White, Green, Silver, and Red.
The Golf Association of Philadelphia (GAP), of which our course is a member, will be holding a BMW Amateur Qualifier on Saturday, May 20. This is a chance for us to show off our beautiful golf course to members from other courses in the GAP area and make some revenue in the process. Golfers who qualify in this tournament will be competing in the Amateur Championship at the Philadelphia Cricket Club.
The Tournament Sub-Committee has been working hard planning tournaments for the coming year. Opening Day Tournament will be Friday, May 5. The entire schedule is posted on the website, check-it out and plan on playing. Since last year’s Labor Day Pig Roast was such a big success it is on the schedule again. The committee is also working on planning an additional dining event that will be open to the entire community with the golf tournament open only to members of the golf course
The Tournament Sub-Committee is also working on forming a schedule for the Men’s League. As soon as the schedule is finalized it will be posted on the website. The first day of Men’s League play this year will be Wednesday, May 10th. The Ladies Day Tournament schedule has been finalized and is posted on the website. Ladies Day starts with informal play on Thursdays April 20 and 27, a Nine and Wine will be held on May 4, and the first official day will be Thursday May 11.
The Handicap Sub-Committee, which consists of one member of the GAC and three members from the golf membership, will be checking handicaps periodically. Please be sure to post your scores within 72 hours of when you play. You can post scores in the pro shop, on your home computer, or the GAP App on your phone.
The Communication Sub-Committee will be sending out email blasts to the entire community, distributing Flyer announcing upcoming events, and posting information on to the website. A new page on the website is the “Hole In One” page. We will be listing all members who make a hole-in-one throughout the year. If someone in your foursome makes that shot, please take a picture of the golfer, and send it to firstname.lastname@example.org along with the name of the person, the hole, and the club used.
Hope to see everyone on the course soon!!
