THE EIGHT BALL BILLIARDS CLUB TOURNAMENTS
We run three tournaments each year. Each one lasts three months and then we take a month off between the start of the new one so everyone can play the game of their choice for fun and sharpen up their skills while preparing for the next one. Some of them are singles and some are partners.
The first singles tournament winner was Frank Zsilavetz and the first team tournament winners were Rich Fuchs and George Carroll. The most recent singles winner is Ron Ulmer. The most recent tournament partners winners were Frank Lucchetto and Jack Failla.
Each tournament champion is rewarded with a trophy that was donated to the club by an anonymous donor; along with having their name inscribed on the winner’s plaque. The runner ups are given medals of achievement in honor of their efforts.
When the tournament is over is over we have a pizza party with all of the refreshments that you could possibly think of. Our treasurer Paul Forte makes sure that everyone has enough to eat and drink.
Ron Trinder is the tournament coordinator. Simply put, we would be lost without Ron. He tallies up each day’s games and posts the winning scores on a daily and weekly basis.
The dues for each of the tournaments are five dollars.
