The Antiques Club was formed by a group of residents who have an interest in antiques. Many of us have possessions that we love that belonged to our parents, aunts, uncles, friends, that we would like to know more about. Some of us have made purchases of items that we have come to admire and like. We want to know more about these treasures and share what we have learned about them with others.
Our Club's official meeting day is the 3rd Wednesday of the month in the morning. The date and time can change with our special activity of the month. When we meet at the Clubhouse on a Wednesday morning, we bring our prized possessions with us for discussion and possible identification. It is amazing how much knowledge our club members have added to the discussion. We can also learn a lot about a treasure just by doing some research on the Internet. At other times we meet at each other's homes in order to share personal collections.
We have made trips to local antique-rich areas such as Red Bank and Point Pleasant, or gone to the Columbus Antique and Flea Market, Lambertville, or Wheaton Village, a New Jersey historical site. We have ventured to Museums in New York, Newark, Long Beach Island and Philadelphia. We have had antiques and auction experts come to speak with us.
You’ll hear about our meetings by flyers (or by e-mail if you are on our e-mail list), by the Community general email messaging system, and with notices on this website. We schedule different events each month.
Everyone is welcome to join us at one or all of our meetings or Club outings. There are no membership fees, nor do we collect money.
